Use ChargingTime with Android Auto

Use the ChargingTime app with Android Auto right in your EV. Find fast charging stations on the car's big display, send them to navigation and always keep the overview on the road.

Step 1: Connect your phone to the car

Connect your Android phone via USB cable or wirelessly, depending on your vehicle. We recommend charging while using Android Auto – wireless charging can cause heat and reduced performance. A detailed guide is on the Android Auto website.

Step 2: Launch ChargingTime

Open ChargingTime from the Android Auto launcher. The app is automatically available after installation.

Step 3: Enter your destination

Use voice input via the Google Assistant or pick a recent destination. A keyboard is not available for safety reasons.

Step 4: Get the overview

As soon as the route is calculated, you see all fast-charging stations along the way. Filters from the phone app are applied and the list updates live. You can see:

  • Current distance per charging park – live while driving.
  • Occupancy per connector: green available, red taken, grey offline, yellow unknown (avoid).
  • Emojis for fast food, restaurant, café, shopping and playground.
  • Elevation along the route.
  • Community star rating.

Step 5: Plan a charging stop

Tap a charging park for details and choose the operator to plan or navigate. If Google Maps is already running, you can add a park with "Go" without stopping navigation.

Step 6: Send the plan to navigation

Under "Planned" you find all stops and the destination with leg distances. From here you can send the full plan to navigation – or only the final destination and add stops spontaneously.
