Use the ChargingTime app with Apple CarPlay right in your EV. Find fast charging stations on your car's big display, send them to navigation and always keep the overview on the road.
Step 1: Connect your phone to the car
Connect your iPhone via USB cable or Bluetooth. Depending on the vehicle only a cable connection may be available – check the manual. We recommend charging the iPhone while in use. Wireless (inductive) charging can cause heat and reduced performance – a cable is often the better choice. A detailed guide is on the Apple website.
Step 2: Launch ChargingTime
Open ChargingTime from your home screen – you may find the app on another page.
Step 3: Enter your destination
Allow microphone and speech recognition access to speak your destination. Alternatively pick a recent destination. A keyboard is not available for safety reasons.
Step 4: Get the overview
As soon as the route is calculated, you see all fast-charging stations along the way. Filter settings from the phone app are applied and the list updates live. You can see:
- Current distance per charging park – live while driving.
- Occupancy per connector: green available, red taken, grey offline, yellow unknown (avoid).
- Emojis for fast food, restaurant, café, shopping and playground.
- Elevation along the route.
- Community star rating.
Step 5: Plan a charging stop
Tap a charging park to see the details – map and list of amenities and operators. Tap an operator to plan the park or send it straight to navigation. If Apple Maps navigation is already running, you can add a park with "Go" without stopping it.
Step 6: Send the plan to navigation
Under "Planned" you'll find all stops and the destination with leg distances. From here you can send the full plan to navigation – or just the final destination and add charging parks spontaneously along the way.
